The 3 Es of Technology in Orthodontics

Quick—name the first thing you think of when you hear the word, “technology.”

Was it your phone? Maybe your computer? Perhaps the convenience of tap-and-go or online shopping? Surely, it wasn’t braces. Many people don’t realize that orthodontics and technology go hand in hand. At Cuozzo Orthodontics in NJ, we use technology in three key ways encompassing every aspect of our approach to teeth straightening.

Education
Dr. Patrick Cuozzo teaches orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. This may technically be “outside of work,” but it ties back to the practice, as Dr. Pat’s faculty position enables him to constantly be around the latest technology in orthodontic care.

New products and techniques are usually introduced at leading universities like UPenn before going mainstream. As an educator, Dr. Pat gets an early look at clinical solutions and systems from top manufacturers. He can then evaluate which ones are most efficient and effective, and ultimately bring those exciting technologies into the Cuozzo office as new additions to our offerings. Read more about why Dr. Pat loves his faculty position at UPenn.

Equipment
Our technology is on full display throughout our orthodontic offices in Sea Girt and Lincroft, NJ. And unlike a dentist’s office, our equipment isn’t notorious for inflicting pain. Our dental x-ray, for example, can take a 3D scan of a specific tooth or the entire jaw while minimizing radiation exposure. We also use iTero™ digital imaging technology to take impressions of your teeth with ease, which can then be sent to the lab to create appliances like Invisalign® aligners.

To print physical models of your teeth, we use a JUELL™ 3D printer that’s the fastest and most accurate on the market. Patients of all ages find it astounding to watch. See why advanced equipment is an important part of our practice.

Experience
One of the quietly crucial ways to get braces off on time is to stick to the appointment schedule provided by your orthodontist. In tune with how you use technology in your everyday life, Cuozzo Orthodontics can send you email and text reminders so you never miss an appointment. The reminders are integrated with our digital record software. Throughout treatment, you also have access to our Patient Portal where you can view your photos and x-rays, access your appointment history, view patient documents and forms, and more. It’s all meant to deliver the most seamless experience possible, so you can focus on the end goal of showing off straight teeth with a big smile.

Technology can be amazing, especially in orthodontics. Book a consultation today and see the best orthodontic technology in action at Cuozzo.
