Dr. Haghighi , Referring Doctor
-
So my name is Kayvon Haghighi. I am a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. I am the medical director for the Maxillofacial Surgery Center for Excellence here in Red Bank, New Jersey. I came out of my training in 2002, and I was working in two different offices, one in Middletown and one in Red Bank. I was working for two other doctors who had a working relationship with Pat, and so we started to collaborate and do cases together, and that's how I first came to know him and then eventually started to work together, and we've been working together for about 20 years or more.
One of the things that we both have in common is that we're both specialized in our field of dentistry. In other words, we choose an area to focus on at our practice, and so that requires both of us to collaborate with other specialists or even general practitioners. Working with someone for a long time, you develop a intuitive sense about how you work together. Other types of things that we work together are much more sophisticated, and it requires a higher degree of communication.
We both are very much complimentary to what we do, and I'll give you an example. So let's say people who do general dental work or general practitioners are taking on more specialty-type roles. They're doing more orthodontics, where the orthodontists used to do all the work. Sometimes things don't go as planned, and we as specialists have to rise to the level. We have to make ourselves super-specialists so that we can deal with, let's say, if there's a complication. So let's say in a patient that comes in that is undergoing orthodontic care and I've done some surgical work to facilitate that, and they come in and I look at it and I say, "Well things aren't really looking really good," or this becomes an orthodontic emergency, I pick up the phone, I call Pat, and to have him be able to say, "Yeah, man, I got this," or, "I'm going to take this case on," it's a huge benefit, not just to make sure my work gets a good outcome, but also cuts down on the treatment time, and it also eliminates any conflict that might happen during treatment.
With orthodontic care, people like to shop around before they commit to one person, and I would say Dr. Pat comes pretty high when it comes to people picking that practice over others. The reason I refer patients to Cuozzo Orthodontics is because I have a level of familiarity with Dr. Pat's work. I've referred family members to Pat, and so I have a very intimate understanding of how he treats patients and how the outcomes are. They're a very seamless, well-oiled machine. It's always positive when it comes to Cuozzo Orthodontics.
At Home Aligners Versus The Cuozzo Experience
-
When I was with my family, when we took pictures I never smiled, and my wife always wanted to know why. I was always very cognizant of my teeth, particularly my front teeth being crooked. In addition to that, I'm also in sales and interact with clients and people, and that was always... Again, very conscious of my teeth, and I wanted to make some improvements.
There was some promotion or advertisement that my company had done and I stumbled upon, at-home aligners. I did some investigation and I didn't have to go really to see a dentist and go through some of what I thought was going to be a hassle. The results were terrible. My teeth had shifted. When you tried to call customer service they would respond back in emails and resend you new aligners that did not fit properly. I was in a lot of pain as I was wearing them, and at one point I decided to forget it.
I stopped treatment completely. I went to see my primary dentist, Dr. Margiotta in Middletown. He had done some x-rays and noticed that my teeth shifted. not in the right way, but in the wrong way, and immediately he advised me to go see Dr. Pat. After doing some initial x-rays, again Dr. Pat says, "David, why didn't you come see me first instead of going through this whole process?" I explained to him why I did what I did and he just shook his head. He said, "Okay. We'll fix things, but the one option I'm going to recommend is braces."
We started the whole process and started that journey together. It was seamless. I felt extremely comfortable. You felt like you were welcomed. Everyone is just incredible personalities, warm, inviting and thorough. The staff is just attentive and nice. It's like I've gained a family after my experience here.
The scheduling for Cuozzo Orthodontics is seamless. They use a technology as far as reminding you via text. The flexibility that they offer, the ease that they offer... I'm not sitting outside in the waiting room. If I sat in the waiting room more than five minutes it was lot. I respect the fact that they value everybody's time.
Now you juxtapose that to other either dentists' and/or doctors' offices, where the staff seems that they're doing you a favor by either rescheduling, or it's a pain, or it's an inconvenience. I couldn't be more happy about my experience and my journey I took with Dr. Pat and Cuozzo Orthodontics.
Hear About Our Patients' Experience at Cuozzo
-
From my first visit here at Cuozzo, my experience has been nothing but wonderful. Everybody's professional. They care about you. They ask you how you feel, whether you're in any discomfort. It's just been great.
From the moment I arrived, which I was a little nervous about in the first place, they were really friendly. They greeted me by name. I didn't wait. I felt much better. I went in, Dr. Cuozzo went over my treatment plan. He sat down with the computer and he showed me pictures of people with similar situations and had examples for me of people my age. They were very transparent with all the costs involved and offered payment plans if I needed it.
To me, one of the most important things is that like they know you. You walk in the door, "Hi, Jeanine, have a seat. They'll be with you in a second." And then they sit down, they ask you questions, and it is very personal. At every appointment, I felt like Dr. Cuozzo took a personal interest in my treatment. And he is such a great orthodontist. He is highly respected in the community.
So at Cuozzo Orthodontics, I didn't feel like just the patient. I felt like family.
Glen's Experience with At Home Aligners
-
My experience with the at home aligners was to put it frankly, pretty brutal because you don't have that hands-on where you do when you go to an ortho. So that being said, it took a lot of time not only to figure that out myself, but to figure it out in terms of whether the aligners were actually doing what they were supposed to do. So it was a lot of a guessing game in that regard that you're taking that time and you're kind of just hoping that it's working how it's supposed to, where I could have side stepped a lot of that and went directly to the source.
My overall experience with Cuozzo Orthodontics was phenomenal. I was welcomed with open arms. They understood where I was coming from, the process that I had already gone through. So they were very kind and nurturing in that regard to say, "Okay, let's put that aside" and develop a really good plan to get me back on track, which is painless. I mean, I thought it was going to take much longer than it did. I was given exactly what expectations should be throughout the way. The staff couldn't have been kinder. The process couldn't have been explained any better than it was. So my overall experience was phenomenal.
Referring Doctor
Dr. James Burden
-
I'm Dr. Jim Burden at New Paradigm Dentistry here in Millstone Township, New Jersey. I met Dr. Cuozzo through our local study club. We have a group of 20 to 25 dentists that we get together once a month and we discuss cases, we discuss things that we've learned in our practices, things we can share with each other, and I got to know Dr. Cuozzo through that study club here locally in Monmouth County.
For me to get the optimum results for my patients and to get the best results for my work, sometimes there's a need for orthodontic care. When that care comes up, I will refer to Dr. Cuozzo because we found over the years that his experience is all about the experience. He and his staff provide the highest quality care. It mirrors what we try to do here at New Paradigm Dentistry, and that can be anything from the simple fact of returning a phone call to a patient, making their appointments on time, providing a comfortable experience for them, providing a clean experience for them, friendly staff. I mean, anything that we try to do here at our office, Dr. Cuozzo and his office consistently meet that.
Patients will call the office of Dr. Cuozzo. They'll make an appointment with his office and be screened for their orthodontic needs, and then treatment will be provided by Dr. Cuozzo and his team. But during the whole process, there's a working relationship that I have with Dr. Cuozzo regarding what I might need on the restorative side of things, what he may need on the orthodontic side of things. When the patient is under the care of Dr. Cuozzo, I kind of entrust them to do what they do. I don't need to be micromanaging their care. When the patient is completed treatment, we'll get a beautiful letter from them saying that the patient has completed their care. They'll come back to our office for the remaining restorative dental care or preventative care that we provide for them, and they will see Dr. Cuozzo as needed for maintenance and follow up and retainers and things like that.
The nice thing about Cuozzo Orthodontics is they have two locations. There's a Lincroft location and there's a Sea Girt location. Our adult patients are seen typically in off-peak hours, so if they have to go into Dr. Cuozzo's office for some kind of orthodontic treatment, they can go in and they can have their work done at a non-peak time. We have never, ever had a problem with a patient coming back with a negative experience. Patients come back, they're happy with their service they've been provided. The quality of care on the technical side that I look at is top-notch. We're seeing these patients time and time again, month after month after month. We're seeing their family, we're seeing their neighbors. So it's incumbent upon us to find the right contacts, find the right specialists that can extend that level of care that we provide here.
This is where I would go. This is where my kids go for their orthodontic care, because I trust and I understand what they do so well.
